I'd never even heard of it but when I read the teaser I was sold. What's better than magic, competition, and love? A combination of The Prestige, Water for Elephants, and Possession, I read this book in about eight hours and couldn't put it down. It's well-written and has a great combination of mystery, intrigue, and romance. A great read for young adults and adults alike, this is one I really enjoyed. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because I'm not sure how I felt about the ending. 4 stars

This book was original, thoughtful and very beautifully written. I loved Morgenstern's descriptions of the venue, the clothing.. everything. This book was very imaginative and fun to read and I am rather sad to be done with it. Toward the end, I was actually trying to imagine how the film adaptation would appear but I can't imagine anyone could do it justice.
