12 Days of Christmas Gift Ideas for Book Lovers Day 2: RokkiHandBags Book Purse & Giveaway

Day 2 brings another great gift idea that combines two of my favorite things - books and fashion. A handmade book purse is the perfect gift idea for any woman, especially a teen that is looking for a way to stand out among her friends. Who else is going to have a purse made especially for them out of their favorite book?

I'd never seen these before this year but I'm in love with them now and know I would love to get one as a gift (hint, hint), especially one of the many gorgeous designs from RokkiHandbags. Here are just a few of the designs available in her Etsy shop.




One lucky reader will be the winner of this beautiful handcrafted purse made from"Homeland" by John Jakes.


Not only is it beautiful, it’s good sized, too, with a colorful floral print lining and pockets to keep you organized. An acrylic sealant helps protect this repurposed book from further wear and tear, and the spine has been reinforced, making it a sturdy and practical handbag that shows off your love for the written word!

Additional Details:
• Measures 6 by 9-1/2 by 3 inches deep
• Two credit card pockets and one larger pocket.
• Black, leather-like handles.
• Button and elastic loop closure.

Every Rokki handbag is made with care and attention to detail. She uses mass-produced trade paperbacks or hardcover books from garage and library used book sales, books with damaged or missing pages that are destined for the trash, as well as books from authors who are delighted to have their own publication turned into a custom-made purse. She never uses first editions or rare books. and pages are rebound or recycled.

    Love these! I have seen purses made from books a few times and these are probably the best I have seen. I love how she used a plain cover book that would normally get tossed and turned it into something beautiful and useful!

    I went to Rokki Handbag and I love the purse made from the book The Complete Book of Cats. I've had my cat Milo since 6th grade. He's about 14yrs. now as he was about 2yrs old when we adopted him. Thanks for a neat giveaway.
